Uganda Gorilla Permit fee raised to 700$
UWA, an organization in charge of Wild life in Uganda has announced that the tariff for Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest Park and Mgahinga Gorilla Park will raise from 600$ to 700$ for foreign non residents effective 1st. July. 2020- 2023.
The same Gorilla Tracking permit will cost 600$ for Foreign Residents with a work permit and 250000 Ugx for East Africa Residents.
The Announcement came after a consultative meeting UWA held with Uganda Tour Operators and both parties agreed to the changes.
The 100$ increment, still leaves Uganda as the most favored and sought destination for Gorilla Trekking since it’s Gorilla permit fees is still less by 800$ of it’s neighboring country Rwanda which charges 1500$ for all Nationals regardless it’s citizens.
Since Rwanda raised it’s Gorilla permit fee from 700$ to 1500$, there has been a massive exodus of Tourists flocking Bwindi Forest and Mgahinga park to watch these endangered mountain Gorillas.

Gorilla Permits for Uganda are on high demand thus sell out many months in advance especially for peak months of June, July, August, September, December, January and February.
Gorilla Lovers are advised to book Uganda Gorilla permits with Katona Tours in advance to avoid disappointment since they are on high demand.
