Bitukura Gorilla Group
This Gorilla family is found in Buhoma Gorilla Group , in Buhoma Gorilla sector of Bwindi Forest and it was named after a river that bears the same name. As it happens the family was first sighted in near the river which also turned out to be part of its homing range.
The Habituation exercise of these Gorillas begun in July 2007 and opened for Gorilla Trekking Bwindi Forest in October 2008. Habituation of Bitukura Gorilla Family was made easy and shorter as UWA Game rangers and trackers encountered with the Kyaguriro group and this non-threatening human contact made it easier for the group to become accustomed to human company much faster than with other Gorilla Groups which often take a minimum of two years to fully habituate.
This Gorilla Family in 2011 divided into two and lived as two separate groups 10 km apart and reunited four months later till now.

-Ndahura, Rukumu, Karamuzi, Rukara who are silver backs.
-Blackbacks being Mugisha, Obia
-Aldult females are Ruhara, Kamunga, Betina
-Juvenile is Twakire
-Infants are Mubwindi, Kadogo
