The park hosts a population of over 1,000 chimpanzees, of which one 80-strong community has been habituated to traveler visits, yet as half-a-dozen promptly determined monkey species.
It has the athletic red Columbus monkey and black-and-white Columbus monkey as well and the handsome L’Hoest’s monkey.
There two tribes that occupy this area and these include; Batooro and Bakiga. Traditionally both tribes use the forest for food, fuel, building materials and medicines.
Chimpanzee Tracking permit costs 200USD only for Foreign non residents whereas 150USD for Foreign residents.
Another activity is CHEX- Chimpanzee Habituation Experience which is either Half day or full day
Bird watching activity exciting, different bird species can viewed in the forest along a variety of butterflies.
More so is Bigodi swamp nature walk or a community walk. It is normally happens in the evening and guests get a chance to see different wild life.
Accommodation in Kibale Forest
-There different categories of Accommodation or lodges and they range from Luxury or upmarket to Middle range and budget comes last.
For instance, Luxury lodges include; Kyaninga lodge and Ndali Lodge, next is Middle lodges which include Insuga Lodge, Rubalika lodge and Chimpanzee guest house Kibale.
Eventually are budget lodges that include Kibale Forest camp and Kibale guest house.
