Gorilla Permit Cancellation in Uganda and Rwanda
Gorilla Trackers must acquire Gorilla permits which is a pass or ticket to view Gorillas in both Uganda and Rwanda.
Gorilla Permit fee in Uganda is 700USD for all Gorilla National Parks in the country and all months.
Whereas Gorilla permit fee in Rwanda is 1500USD for Volcanoes National Park for all nationals regards of the travel month.
Gorilla Permit Cancellation in Uganda
UWA- Uganda Wildlife Authority, an organisation in charge of Uganda wildlife conservation, Uganda safaris thus in charge of the Mountain Gorillas in Uganda and responsible for selling Gorilla Permits, does not pay a refund to once booked and paid for Gorilla Permits.
But UWA allows travellers to reschedule their booked Gorilla permits to another date available to the guest. The rescheduling of the Gorilla permit to a new date is subject to Gorilla permit availability in both Bwindi Forest National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla Park.
If Gorilla Permits are moved to a new date a month and so in advance, the reschedule is free of charge.
Late reschedule of a week to the trekking date, has a charge fee of 150USD
Gorilla Permit Cancellation in Rwanda
RDB – Rwanda development Board is the organisation in charge of conserving Gorillas in Volcanoes park Rwanda and also sells the Gorilla permits or passes that allow guests to Trek Gorillas in Rwanda through it’s main offices in Kigali
Like UWA, RDB does not make a refund for once booked and paid for Gorilla permits.
Unless if a guest is found ill and is a threat to the Mountain Gorilla, the game rangers may stop him or her from visiting the gorillas and RDB will refund 50% of the Gorilla permit fees.
Rescheduling of the Rwanda gorilla permits is also possible at a fee.
Gorilla National Parks
In Uganda there 2 Gorilla National Parks including Bwindi Impenetrable National park or Bwindi Forest and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
In Rwanda there is only 1 national park Volcanoes National Park or Des Volcanoes parc
Gorilla Tracking exercise age limit is 15 years and above in Uganda and Rwanda. Gorilla Trekking Tickets must be booked in advance since their demand is on rise in both countries.
